Health Books about infertility

What is infertility?

The International Council on Infertility Information Dissemination (INCIID) considers a couple to be infertile if: they have not conceived after a year of unprotected intercourse, or after six months in women over 35; there is incapability to carry a pregnancy to term. Healthy couples in their mid-20s having regular sex have a one-in-four chance of getting pregnant in any given month. This is called "fecundity".

Reviews:

choose another book!
I've recently come into the TTC group and have sought out many books to get prepared...this book looked good, said all the right things on the cover but when I got it home, it was very hard to stay interested! It was like a textbook, not a very difficutlt read but difficult to want to keep reading. Now I'm ordering new books because I dislike this one so much. I'm sure if has useful information, but I'd rather read something more "personable".
Not Very Good for Those Trying to Conceive...
This book read like a textbook...not very interesting or helpful. In fact, I read through it and was so unimpressed that I returned it the day after I received it!
Vague and general
We were looking for scientific, comprehensive information about fertility and conception. We found this book to be vague and general, which is OK if you need some background on general infertility or fertility issues. If you want a much more specific "how-to" on identifying fertile days, knowledge of fertility signs, and how to make detailed charts that will be useful for you and your doctor, then we very strongly recommend Toni Weschler's "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" instead.
I urge all couples to read this book.
Whether you have been diagnosed as "infertile," or are just thinking about starting a family, I urge all couples to read this book. You can help yourself or someone you love to understand the facts about getting pregnant, as well as stumbling blocks that can hinder fertility. The authors have provided a reasonable and scientifically sound book that addresses normal pregnancy and infertility, and have given a wealth of information on PCOS, miscarriage, older mothers, and male factor infertility, as well as low-tech and high-tech solutions that really work. An amazing read for anyone contemplating starting a family!!!
Insightful, detailed and full of hope!
A superb book on a very sensitive subject. The authors give great insight into the problem of infertility, esp. with people waiting later to start families, and reiterate the hope of having children using the new techologies available. While many books present the high-tech solutions, the authors wrote with such compassion,I could not put the book down until completion. The chapters on stress and natural therapies for resolving stress were extremely helpful to me and my husband. I recommend this book to all of our friends!
