What is indigestion?

Indigestion is a condition that is frequently caused by eating too fast, especially by eating high-fat foods quickly.

Symptoms of indigestion are as follows:

  • Sometimes uncontrollable burping

About a year ago I was diagnosed with Sclerosing Cholangitis. Sclerosing Cholangitis is a liver disease and is usually connected with Colitis. Sclerosing Cholangitis is discover through standard blood tests. My blood showed high levels of Alkaline Phosphatses, AST and ALT levels. The doctor told me there was no cure for this disease and that a liver transplant was likely in my future. However, since being on this diet my colitis improved and my blood test are normal. It took about 6 months. TRY THE DIET! STICK WITH IT FOR 3 MONTHs AND SEE FOR YOURSELF. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO LOSE. It's a difficult diet, but it's better than the alternatives. I definitely recommend this book!!!
Yeast was making my little boy sick
We have been SCD since 2/05. We say an almost immediate change in my son. We started SCD after a recommendation from a friend whos daughter was also on it. My son's symptoms were severe diarreha, gas, bloting and because of all of this very cranky and irritable. We determined that he had chronic intestinal yeast (from antibiotic use for severe ear infections) that had taken over his intestines. The yeast was preventing his intestines from breaking down food and absorbing the required nutrients to live. In 2 weeks he went from 10 DBM's a day to 1-2 normal ones. He was much happier and seemed like a "normal" child. He is now thriving. He can eat almost anything on the diet. His current favorites are pumpkin pie, icecream and anything with cheese. I believed this diet saved my son's life. I don't know where he would be now if he still was unable to digest food...and I'm glad, thanks to this diet, that I will never have to find out!

I'm a massage therapist who has learned Chinese medicine as well.
I just read this book in only an hour since a good portion is needed recipies. It gets stright to the point with the facts & I could not put it down.
I realized I'd already been eating mostly only foods on this diet for almost a year now. I didn't know it though. I just knew seeds bothered me, but not nuts, dairy & soy made me very congested to the point that had trouble breathing, all grains got me including corn, all added sugars & most cooked products though I live at a health food store..., etc.
My insticts have always been great, as a kid I ate almost nothing but ran around like crazy. As soon as I discovered deserts at 9, all was lost, my energy, my ability to concentrate... all slowly declined as my weight went up.
I always had tummyaches, tired, get sick easily, moody, irritable, need a nap after any meal, etc. but I thought it was normal. I ask most people & everyone says they feel tired & less able to function after eating.
By age 17 I had migranes that was last for 2 weeks staight. By 20 though I started a low-fat diet eating mostly , cut out soda & lost weight, I was always sick with something & my energy was completely gone.
Massage college taught nutrition & the first thing was to cut out all syntheic ingrediants & dairy which I did. Since I had horrible diet for 20 years & stressed out with a tough schooload, it took many months to detox during which I felt very sluggish but my migraines disapeared. I was suddenly feeling so clean & light inside & wonderful, but I still didn't get back all my energy or get rid of acne.
With advice from health store owner in 2002, I cut out gluten & sugar for 2 weeks out of desperation. I felt like I was 8 years old again, lost 5 lbs in one week & my acne was 40% better. When I sneak some back in my diet, I would die from pain.
Over the years I have been getting better & a celiac free diet helped a lot with pain, etc., but not as good as I should. Since I natrually have been very close to this diet already, through trial/error (pain/tiredness & loss of fun/work/life) it makes perfect sense...
If you can't digest it, bacteria does & they proliferiate until they compromise the body. The body tries vainly to defend itself with mucous we all get nowadays but it only makes it harder for our intestines to absorb nutrients from foods ir normally can. We all know too much mucous can then cause more problems such as respiratory allergies, etc.
In studying macoboitic whole food books based on Chinese medicine, they agree 90% with the facts of this book to get rid of most poor diet conditions & get rid of bacteria/parasites. This book & sites based on it tell you every single food you can & cannot eat & why to make it very easy to do along with recipes. I have been on it only short while, but already my skin looks better & my pains are gone. I have cheated & she was totally right & my body paid for it.

Eczema
I started this diet to help a friend with UC. We would 'compete' with different diets, supplements, and gimmicks to see what had an effect and what did not; we would compare symptoms & effects. I was like a 'control subject' because I do not have bowel disease. We did this for a year before I found SCD.

This diet had an immediate effect on me! The yogurt made my stomach feel great & I had more energy. 2 weeks on this diet cured my life-long eczema. (For eczema - I had tried no milk diet, celiac diet, probiotics, antihistimines, vegan diet, HCL acid & oil supplements - nothing worked) I haven't been sick with colds or the flu once since I started this diet. I used to get every virus that passed by me before.

I maintain this diet even though I do not have a 'serious' disease. It is an easy diet after you become accustomed to it. Giving up processed foods is a must do if you value good health in the slightest.

My friend with UC joined me on this diet and is loving it. It is a Godsend to both of us.

If I can do this without being forced unto it because of a 'serious' illness, I see no reason why anyone else would have a problem with trying it.

I see many people in life who wait upon a 'magic pill' or supplement/herb to relieve them of symptoms without any effort at all on their part, but when faced with a 'cure' which involves them changing their diet away from pasta, bread, and prepared ready-to-eat goodies and putting some thought, time, and effort into preparing the food which sustains their life - they prefer to be stay sick.
