Health Books about impotence

What is impotence?

Penile erection is managed by two different mechanisms. The first one is the reflex erection, which is achieved by directly touching the penile shaft and the second is the psychogenic erection, which is achieved by erotic stimuli. The first one uses the peripheral nerves and the lower parts of the spinal cord, whereas the second one uses the limbic system of the brain. In both conditions an intact neurologic system is required for a successful and complete erection. Stimulation of penile shaft by the nervous system gives rise to the secretion of nitric oxide (NO), which causes the relaxation of smooth muscles of corpora cavernosa (the main erectile tissue of penis), subsequently giving rise to penile erection. Additionally, adequate levels of testosterone (produced by the testes) and an intact pituitary gland are required for the development of a healthy male erectile system. As can be understood from the mechanisms of a normal erection, impotence may develop due to hormonal deficiency, disorders of the neurologic system, lack of adequate penile blood supply or psychological problems.

Reviews:

Interesting and clear saddle insights
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and now know more about the male anatomy than I ever imagined. I read it with great interest and could not turn the pages fast enough. The book has many interesting points and suggestions regarding the design of bicycle seats. It also explains how to measure your pelvic width to find a seat that helps to avoid pain and numbness and clearly explains why some current seat designs might cause problems while riding. The points make a lot of clear sense and have helped me to make my next saddle purchase.
Good suggestions for evaluating seats
The suggestions in the book make a lot of sense, although he does not suggest a specific seat that is currently available. It's more of an overview of what characteristics are beneficial to have in a bike seat to avoid problems. A lot of the background was geared towards men (because of current testing methods according to the author) but the recommendations for seat designs still seemed to apply to women as well. It's a worthwhile read if you have been trying out a lot of seats for something that works or just want to learn more about bicycle seat design.
not helpful for women
the book describes the problems with bicycle seats but does not give any practical infomation about selecting a seat. It is more theory about the problems, than help. In addition, the book focuses on medical problems from bicycle seats for men, but not on thos for women. I would not recommend this if you are looking for a book to help you select the appropriate seat, expecially if you are a woman.
